How to Set Up Fax Service for Your Laptop PC
Setting up a fax service for your laptop means you can send and receive faxes directly on your computer. Not only do you save paper, you can also send faxes from anywhere that you can plug in a mobile phone line. All you need is an internal modem, a mobile phone and add fax service (GSM provider)
Step 1
Plug your phone line into the "Line In" connector on your laptop’s internal modem.
Step 2
Go to your computer's Start menu and select "Printer" then "Faxes."
Step 3
Click on “Install a Fax Printer." The computer will install the fax software needed and then open a wizard to install the Windows XP fax software.
Step 4
Follow the screens and fill out the requested information.
Step 5
Enter the phone number of the telephone line connected to your modem when a phone number is requested.
Step 6
Click “Next,” then choose the printer where you want your incoming faxes to print, if desired.
Step 7
Choose the folder where you want incoming faxes saved.
Step 8
Type the telephone number and your business name in the TSID box.
Step 9
Type your telephone number and your business name in the CSID box.
Step 10
Click "Finish" to exit the wizard.
